There comes a time in every designer’s life in which s/he must jump into the fire, adopt new responsibilities, and hope things work out. During my time at BEHR Paint Company as a graphic designer, I adopted photography as one of my responsibilities for social media, web, blog, and print applications. Using a dark corner of one of the offices, I created a process and method for taking convincing interior photos using sets and studio strobes. We also created content for BEHR’s contributions to The Home Depot’s Apron Blog, capturing step-by-step instructions for DIY projects and using vast amounts of retouching to bring life to sets and stages, often built in the middle of a parking lot.
